Trust & Safety

How we keep students, parents, and schools safe.

This page is maintained by Think-Nth to answer common safety, privacy, and compliance questions. It reflects our current controls — not an independent certification.

Tutor vetting & background checks

Every tutor is interviewed, subject-tested, and reference-checked before their first paid session.

For tutors working with minors we require a current background check (DBS in the UK, state-level check in the US, or equivalent in the tutor's country of residence) on file before approval.

Applications are reviewed by our team, not auto-approved. You can see each tutor's degrees, subjects, and verified badge on their profile.

Safeguarding students under 18

Sessions with minors run on a shared 1:1 video link with recording available on request from the parent or school.

Parents receive the tutor's name, session summary, and any homework by email after each session.

Tutors are asked never to communicate with minors on personal channels — all messaging goes through Think-Nth or through a copied-in parent.

If you have a safeguarding concern, email info@think-nth.org with the subject line "Safeguarding" and we will respond within 24 hours.

Data protection & privacy

We collect the minimum data needed to schedule sessions, process payment, and email you a session summary.

Payment card data is handled by Stripe and never touches our servers.

Traffic to and from our site is served over HTTPS. Session recordings, when created at your request, are stored with access limited to the student, parent, and assigned tutor.

We are aligned with the GDPR principles: you can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing info@think-nth.org. See our privacy policy for the full detail.

International students

We serve students in 30+ countries. Tutors work across time zones and you'll see availability in your own local time when booking.

We invoice in USD, GBP, EUR, AED, INR, and SGD. Bank transfer is available via Wise for international families.

For schools outside the US or UK we can sign a data processing agreement on request.

Terms, refunds & fit guarantee

If the tutor–student fit isn't right in the first two sessions we rematch you at no cost.

Unused prepaid sessions in a package are refundable, minus the sessions already used at the single-session rate.

Full terms are on our Terms page and our privacy policy is on the Privacy page.

Compliance commitments

Think-Nth is operated by Think-Nth Hub Ltd. Below are the standards we align our operations to. Formal certification is in progress where noted.

GDPR (EU / UK)

We collect only the personal data needed to deliver tutoring, honor deletion/export requests within 30 days, and store EU/UK user data in EU-region infrastructure.

COPPA (Under-13 in the US)

Students under 13 require verifiable parental consent before an account is created. We do not target advertising to minors and do not sell student data.

Enhanced DBS (UK)

All UK-based tutors hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate. Tutors elsewhere are vetted with the jurisdictional equivalent (e.g. Working with Children Check).

Encryption in transit & at rest

All traffic served over TLS 1.2+. Databases and file storage encrypted at rest with AES-256. Payment card data never touches our servers — handled by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1).

Professional indemnity insurance

Think-Nth carries professional indemnity and public liability cover. Certificate available to institutional clients on request.

Data-processing addendum (DPA)

A DPA is available for schools, districts, and institutional partners. Contact info@think-nth.org to request the current version.
